E.A.S. Collection...For Sir

E.A.S. Collection…For Sir, a men’s line of beaded jewelry to honor my father, Edward Arthur Spencer, Sr. He was a man who believed in God, family and community. He dedicated his life to serving God and those in need. Dad used his voice to speak for those who were not always heard. He worked and fought against discrimination in employment, housing, and education.

My dad was born in 1929, during the Great Depression, however he never let his life struggles stop him from living a fulfilled life. He worked hard to make sure his family was taken care of and he taught my siblings and I to care about others and there was nothing that we could not do. He believed in supporting Black businesses and encouraged his children to think about having their own. Which is why I wanted to honor him. 

In November of 2022, I decided to focus on his life and not his death. By doing this I picked gemstones for most of my designs because of their beautiful meaning which correlates with the wonderful qualities of my dad. With each design I wrote a blurb about how the gemstone related to my dad’s life. I hope this writeup will give you a little insight of my dad and that it will inspire you to create your own joy.
